With a crisp and refreshing sound which solidifies his mark as a diverse producer this EP is curated for all ears.
The Remixes feature Acapellas from artists like Wiz Khalifa, Elliphant, Mapei, Jaqee, Lily Allen and more.

Bio (English):

Thilo Jacks aka Teka kicked off his career in the music business about 15 years ago. During the 2000’s his label “Rootdown Records” created a unique Reggae sound in Germany with productions such as Mono & Nikitaman, Nosliw and Maxim. He also made productions and remixes for the likes of Gentleman, Anthony B, Luciano, Seeed and Dutch Ziggi Recado whose hit "Need to tell you this" has now cracked the four million plays on YouTube. He was selected several times by the readers of the strongest reggae magazine in Germany "Riddim" Producer of the Year award. His first gold record as a producer he won in Switzerland for the album "Gangdalang" with the Zurich singer Phenomden.

In 2009 he produced the world music collective Koalas Desperados which mixed Latin styles, Fado, Afrobeat and club sounds. This project was an important step as a producer for Teka, because the sound was organic, spatial and not so much in your face. The development of his artistry will progress as he is not only a producer but writer, engineer, musician who plays various instruments, label owner & manager.

His profile in recent years has expanded with new genres and styles. In 2013 he was able to put another gold record on the wall with the album "Staub" by Maxim (singer/songwriter). Former roommates, Maxim and Teka took a step out from Maxim’s familiar sound to try out new styles and direction. The pair had connected for several years now and their dedication to music and their friendship was proven stronger through their successes.

Recently Teka worked with local Cologne singer/songwriter Helen Kaiser. This was his first trip to the electronic shores. Together they created "Green Lake Peace" a blend of electro and pop with a singer-songwriter feel. Just before wrapping his year he met the berlin visiting artist Noah Slee from New Zealand. Together with Chris (Symbiz Sound), Fizzle (SoulForce Music), Teka formed the production team Kitschkrieg to tailor Noah Slee's sound. The result is a fusion of future soul, hip-hop and electronica. The results of this synergy will see the light of day mid/late 2015.

A force to be reckoned with "Teka's Take Away, Remix Sessions Vol. 1" the work of a creative whiz. Whose inspiration even after 15 years is unbroken and new musical shores are his target without however renouncing his roots.

Mit der EP "Teka’s Takeaway Remix Sessions Vol. 1" (Release: 24.2.15) zollt der Wahl-Berliner und mehrfache Produzent des Jahres (Riddim Magazin) eine Hommage an seine Off-Beat Vergangenheit und paart diese mit seiner konsequenten Weiterentwicklung als Produzent.
Das Zusammenspiel von Reggae Klassikern wie Hammond Orgel, Space Echo, einer echten Bandmaschine und neuartigen Beats aus NI`s Maschine ergeben Tekas Definition von "Future Reggae". Der Plan geht auf, Teka`s Future Reggae Sound klingt so frisch wie Reggae es selten tut, ohne dabei die Essenz des Genres zu verwässern.
Dass Teka Reggae nach wie vor spürt wie kaum eine andere Musik zeigt folgendes Zitat:
Ich nahm Acapellas, die mich inspirierten, und tat damit, was mir dazu einfiel. Und das war erstaunlich oft Reggae.“

Reggae ist es, womit Thilo Jacks aka Teka seine Karriere im Musikgeschäft vor rund 15 Jahren ins Rollen brachte. Während der Nuller-Jahre prägte er mit seinem Label Rootdown Records wie kaum ein Zweiter Reggae aus deutschen Landen mit Produktionen wie für Mono & Nikitaman, Nosliw und Maxim. Zudem arbeitete er mit und remixte für Reggaegrößen wie Gentleman, Anthony B, Luciano, Seeed oder dem Holländer Ziggi Recado, dessen Hit „Need to tell you this“ bei Youtube inzwischen die vier Millionen Plays geknackt hat. Und so wurde er zurecht mehrmals von den Lesern des Auflagenstärksten Reggaemagazins in Deutschland „Riddim“ zum Produzenten des Jahres gewählt. Seine erste Goldene Schallplatte bekam er in der Schweiz für sein musikalisches Schaffen und der Arbeit an dem Album „Gangdalang“ des Züricher Sängers Phenomden.
Für das Projekt Koalas Desperados fremdelte er zum ersten Mal 2009 mit dem Offbeat. Das Weltmusik-Kollektiv aus 14 Nationen mischte Latin Styles, Fado, Afrobeat und Clubsounds. Dieses Projekt war ein wichtiger Schritt als Produzent für Teka, denn „Der Sound wurde organischer, räumlicher, weniger -in your face-.“ Dementsprechend nahm die Entwicklung des Künstlers Teka seinen Lauf, so ist er nicht nur Produzent, Engineer, Musiker der diverse Instrumente spielt sondern auch Labelbetreiber und Manager.“

Das Profil von Teka erweitere sich in den letzten Jahren somit konsequent und stetig um neue Genres. 2013 konnte er sich für das Singer-Songwriter Album „Staub“ von Maxim eine weitere Goldene Schallplatte an die Wand seines Studios hängen. Und auch sonst verbindet ihn mit Maxim ein besonderes Verhältnis. So gingen die ehemaligen Mitbewohner gemeinsam den Schritt vom Reggae zu neuen Soundufern und sind gemeinsam gewachsen oder besser gesagt Erwachsen geworden.
Mit der Kölner Songwriterin Helen Kaiser wagte Teka 2014 die ersten Ausflüge in elektronische Gefilde. Gemeinsam schufen sie mit „Green Lake Peace“ eine Melange aus Elektro und Songwriter Pop. Zudem stand im vergangenen Jahr der neuseeländische Neo-Soul Sänger Noah Slee wie aus dem nichts vor Tekas Studiotür. Gemeinsam mit Chris von Symbiz und Fizzle von SoulForce Music formte Teka das Produzententeam Kitschkrieg, um Noah Slee das passende Klanggewand auf den Leib zu schneidern. Entstanden ist dabei eine Fusion aus Soul, Synthie-Pop und Electronica die gepaart mit dem melancholischen Falsett des Neuseeländers, die 2015 das Licht der Welt erblicken wird.

Und so ist, um nochmal den Kreis zu schließen, „Teka´s Takeaway Remix Sessions Vol. 1“ das Werk eines kreativen Tausendsassas. Dessen Inspiration auch nach 15 Jahren ungebrochen ist und neue musikalische Ufer sein Ziel sind ohne jedoch seine Wurzeln zu verleugnen.
